The Pemigewasset River Local Advisory Committee (PRLAC) will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 3:00 PM.

PRLAC will *not* hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting for October 27, 2020 and instead hold the Special Meeting on October 29, 2020.

The primary purpose of this Special Meeting will be to address questions about PRLAC’s support for and involvement in a conservation project in the land in Holderness and Plymouth between I-93 and the Pemi River. A proposed Letter of Support is attached.

Background Information:
This is the project that has been described at a couple of our last few meetings. A map of the proposed area is attached. The intent is to formalize and existing network of recreation trails, and protect and conserve the land, ponds and vernal pools in perpetuity. The area will be created using grant funds that will enable the outright acquisition of, or establishment of conservation easements on, land currently  owned by the Lakes Region Golf Courses, Inc., Neville Point Realty, the Holderness School, and the Plymouth Athletic Club. The grant proposal deadline is Oct 30.

We anticipate that the oversight group will consist of one member each from the Plymouth Conservation Commission, the Holderness Conservation Commission, the New England Mountain Bike Association, the Friends of the Pemi and the Trail Busters Snowmobile Club. The purpose of the oversight group would be to meet at least annually to discuss requests, concerns, and opportunities that come up over the year that could affect the recreation area’s recreation goals and conservation status.
